Answers to a few wedding questions, part 2

You got the card then, right? Good good good.

Part one of these questions was posted back in April; here's the sequel.

Q: What should we wear?

A: Whatever you please. We're dressing up in tie and fancery, but wearing shoes that will let us tromp in the woods. It's isn't a long walk into the redwoods, but it is the forest.

Q: Could you post the street addresses of the wedding itself?

A: Absolutely. 4:30pm is at Roberts Grove, part of Roberts Regional Recreation Area. 10570 Skyline Blvd., Oakland CA 94619. More information about this place: A 100-acre park in Oakland, Roberts Grove is a playground for families and groups. With a second growth Redwood forest, volleyball and a baseball field, Roberts Park has a little bit of everything for escaping the urban maze. One of the highlights of Roberts Grove is the 25-foot, heated swimming pool (open May to Sept) that boasts private lessons and public lap times.

Q: So if I show up early I might want to bring a swimsuit?

A: Yep.

Q: Is there a video that shows us this redwood grove, and does this video feature an awesome 1960s-filmstrip soundtrack?

A: Yes indeed, right here. And here's the East Bay Regional Park District page devoted to this place.

Q: How about the Oakland Metro?

A: The Oakland Metro is at 630 3rd Street, Oakland CA 94607. And here is the Metro's site. The reception there starts at 7.

Q: Is it an open bar?

A: You know it. Drinks on us.

Q: Who designed your invitation?

A: The great Sean Baca. Look for him to make a cameo or two behind the drumkit at the reception. Thanks for asking. Yay Sean.

Q: Did Molly make her own wedding dress?

A: Yes she did. Designed it top to bottom, handpicked the fabrics and all that. It's rad.

Q: So where's this list of songs?

A: The list to which you refer is the master list of lyrics and chord changes that we will project onto the Metro's wall. Anyone who wants to sing or play is welcome to hop up. We're calling the list "The Great 500," even though it currently lists 524 songs.

Q: How do I add a song -- the song that I WANT TO PERFORM -- to this list?

A: Email the lyrics and chords to me via Kevin [at] GriddleMusic [dot] com and I'll get them in there. (Ignore the "Out of the office" message... I'm still on email until Sunday, just not for work. Also, my cell phone is 510 then 332 and finally 6975 if you need to reach me otherwise.)

Q: So wait, you guys aren't registered anywhere?

A: No, sorry... no registry. If you really insist on giving us something, though, you can add to our Globetrotting Fund. Next year we are headed to the South Pacific, and the savings account for that begins now. Ask Marianne, the maid of honor, if that idea intrigues you. Marianne is MPNet1 [at] AOL [dot] com, and her mailing address is: Marianne! 117 San Carlos Way, Novato, CA 94945.

Q: I am flying in. I'm not expected to bring a dish to the potluck, am I?

A: No, just bring your own sweet self.

Q: I live in the Bay Area. What food should I bring?

A: A-ha! That, my friend, is a question for the great Dr. Becky Seal. Becky has kindly offered to head the brigade for the potluck divvying. We have set up a special email account just for this occasion, which is KevinMollyFood [at] Yahoo [dot] com.
